Tony Caputo, Plans to Launch New Cast of Characters
Tony Caputo, a familiar name in the comic book and visual storytelling industry, is preparing to launch a series of high quality graphic novels. He has partnered with MG3, Inc. a multi-media development and distribution company located in Los Angeles and Japan. CHAOSIS, VESPER’S 2, FOUR-COLOR, INC and LITTLE BIG SHOT are four of the eight book titles currently in production which have been written, adapted and designed by Caputo. The other titles include OKEANOS: DARK TIDE, A.R.C. ANGEL, ISLAND’S EDGE, and BLOOD SHADOW which are in various stages of preproduction. The collaborators are committed to producing exceptional graphic novels containing substantive stories and using extraordinary creative talents from around the world to create magical visual narratives.
The first graphic novel slated for release is Chaosis. It is a horror, techno-thriller that pits the humanity of tragedy, love and lust against the inhumanity of technology, money and power. The novel is dynamically written by Tony C. Caputo, brilliantly illustrated by Lin-Li Hsang, and masterfully edited by Jonathon Gilbreath. Chaosis will be a full-size, 128 page illustrated novel containing a complete, stand-alone story.
In addition to over two decades of entrepreneurial experience, intellectual property and licensing experience, Caputo has written “the bible” on comic book publishing. HOW TO SELF-PUBLISH YOUR OWN COMIC BOOK (Watson-Guptill) is still a best-selling how-to book, selling over 125,000 copies since 1997. This book, along with VISUAL STORYTELLING (Watson-Guptill, 2003) has kept him in touch with the industry; not as a publisher, but as an expert. These books have also introduced new generations of readers to Caputo, to the 1980s NOW Comics and to his most recent VESPER’S Graphic Novels.
Caputo is likely best known for spearheading such comic book releases as SPEED RACER, ASTRO BOY, THE TERMINATOR, THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS, FRIGHT NIGHT, GHOSTBUSTERS II, and THE GREEN HORNET. Caputo published almost 1,000 publications, through a dozen distributors, including Warner Publishing Services, the world's largest distributor of magazines and books. The durability of these intellectual properties is why millions of fans fondly remember Tony Caputo.
